Los
Angeles is again the celebrity gift-giving capital. The women who
made up the "Women Rock: Girls with Guitars" benefit enjoyed a sumptuous
goody lounge. Ellen DeGeneres, who attended last year but wasn't
sure she could wear Stuart Weitzman's gift of high-heeled shoes,
inspired the Hyde company to offer bowling shoes instead. All the
stars, including Sheryl Crow, Mary J Blige, Pat Benatar, the Dixie
Chicks, Emmylou Harris and Nelly Furtado received gifts from each
sponsor.
They
started with Maurice Lacroix Swiss watches. If that's not efficient
enough, they added Palm handhelds. Most important, a Palm rep showed
the stars how to use their new gifts. La Perla lingerie was a new
entrant in the goody giveaway is. A lingerie rep showed off styles,
and gave out gift certificates for the Italian chain's Rodeo Drive
store. Kangol designed fedora hats in pink, to match the theme of
raising money to fight breast cancer.
